Important Update: SUSD IDs needed to purchase cafeteria meals beginning Mon., 10/12/26
I am writing to communicate an important update regarding the SUSD payment process for school meals that affects all SUSD schools. Effective Monday, October 12, upon our return from Fall Break, the only allowable method for SUSD students to pay for school meals will be with their school issued student ID.
As part of our district's participation in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), students are required to use their student ID when purchasing meals. Also, moving away from manually entering ID numbers will help ensure that meal purchases are accurately attributed to the correct student account.
To ensure a smooth transition and avoid disruptions for students and families, please see the information below:
- How to make meal payments through MySchoolBucks: MySchoolBucks
- How to complete a meal application: Lunch Application
- All SMS students received a new ID during the second week of this school year. If your child needs another ID (due to their first ID being lost, damaged, etc.), they will be provided a second ID at no charge during the morning of Monday, October 12. Students will be called over the PA by grade level to the library to pick up another ID card if they need one.
- Additional replacement ID cards needed will cost $5.00 and can be requested and paid for in the SMS front office.
Thank you for your partnership and teamwork with this change to help ensure a smooth transition when we return from Fall Break. If you have any questions, please contact the front office at 520-625-3502, ext. 1400.
