Posted Date: 02/23/26 (04:22 PM)
SMS 8th Grade Families,
As part of our college and career readiness efforts at Sahuarita Middle School, we strive to set all students up for success. That is why we are offering the PSAT 8/9—the first test in the SAT® Suite of Assessments—to our 8th grade students. If you are interested in having your 8th grader take this optional assessment, please have them sign up at the front office with Ms. Jessica Johnson by Friday, 03/06/26. The cost of the test is $14.00, and will be due by Friday, 03/13/26, via online payment at https://susd30.us/families/online-payments, cash or check made out to SUSD #30. Results from this assessment help us establish a baseline for students as they start their high school journey. The results help us focus classroom instruction and support your child’s growth. Taking the PSAT 8/9 can also help your child to:
* Understand their strengths, and what skills they need to work on.
* Find out what AP® courses they’re ready to take.
* Discover career options by exploring a sample of growing careers in their state.
This spring, the PSAT 8/9 will be administered in a digital format that will provide an overall easier testing experience for students. Feel free to watch the two-minute video attached hereto to see what students can expect with the digital PSAT 8/9. If you sign up for the test in the front office and pay by the deadline, your child will take the PSAT 8/9 on the morning of Tuesday, 04/28/26, on a computer in the SMS computer lab, and scores will be released in mid-April. Check-in is at 8:00 AM. Testing Begins at 8:15 AM sharp. If you or your child have questions about the PSAT 8/9, please reach out to Ms. Jessica via email at jessica.johnson@sahuarita.net or via phone at 520-625-3502 x1446.
